Our History

We trace our roots to the early 1890’s when D.W. Newcomer, a sash and door maker, was called upon to construct a coffin for a close friend. This brief encounter led Mr. Newcomer to enter funeral service by opening D.W. Newcomer’s Undertaking and Livery Service in Kansas City, Missouri in 1893. Followed by his son, David and grandson Warren, the Newcomer family continued in funeral service.

In 1995, fourth-generation funeral director Ren Newcomer and his wife Theresa expanded the family business to Ohio, building our Northwest chapel in 2001. Our Southwest Chapel was built in 2010, and we opened our West Sylvania chapel in 2018. Ren and Theresa's children Maggie and John continue the tradition of providing quality funeral service at a fair price that has guided the family for generations.
