Louis A. Watson, age 89, of Toledo, OH passed away June 24, 2023 at St. Clare Commons. He was born January 19, 1934 in Toledo to Edward and Mary (Manera) Watson. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lou was employed with Buettner Printing for many years retiring in 1999. He was an avid football fan especially Notre Dame football and followed numerous NFL teams based on the player not necessarily the team. Lou was also a diehard New York Yankees fan his entire life starting at a young age working at the ball field in concessions and helping his uncles as a bat boy. Lou was a very good bowler in his younger years and actually met the love of his life, Janice while bowling. He worked as a caddy in his youth at Inverness Country Club which sparked his interest in the game of golf. He enjoyed many golf trips with friends and numerous tournaments with his wife, Janice. The most important part of Lou's life was spending time with his children and grandchildren sharing wisdom and advice in the form of his many life stories.

In addition to his parents, Lou was also preceded in death by his wife, Janice Watson and son, Timothy Watson. He is survived by his children, Theodore Watson, David (Lisa) Watson, Daniel (Jennifer) Watson, Lynne (Matthew) Finfrock; grandchildren, Morgan, David, Edward "Jake," Brittany (Isaiah), Andrew, Hannah, Zachary and Joshua; Brother, Fred (Martha) Watson.

The family will receive guests Friday, June 30, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Gesu Catholic Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd., Toledo, OH 43607. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the charity of the donor's choice in Lou's memory.
