Zoe (Gioia) Hadjivasilis-Curtessi, age 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 22, 2011.
She was born on September 14, 1914 in Tripoli, Libya. Zoe immigrated to the U.S. in December of 1971 and later became a U.S. Citizen. She was an accomplished seamstress and above all a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. For the last 21 years she lived with her youngest daughter, Marina and grandchildren Molly and Brent.
Zoe was preceded in death by her husband, Giorgio Curtessi and her grandson, Raymond E. Holland III.
She leaves behind her Children, Mariella (Sidney) Warner, Angela Rogers, Michele Curtessi, Elena Carnielli, Leonida Curtessi, Alessandro (Pilar) Curtessi and Marina Cooper; Grandchildren: Sabrina, George, Kate, Margaret, Carlo, George, Alessandro, Gilbert, Yvo, Marco, Cristina, Juliana, Giovanna, Larissa, Molly, Angela and Brent; Great-grandchildren: Ryan, Courtney, Shane, Audrey, Blair, Paolo, Sophia, Jasmin, Colby, Dylan, Noah, Callie, Julian, Cain, Adrian, Mika, Lorenzo, Francesca and Nomi and two Great-great grandchildren: Blake and Liam.
The family will receive guests from 2-8:00 pm on Friday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Trisigion Service will be held Friday evening at 5:00 pm. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 1:00 pm at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 802 N. Superior. Father Aristotle W. Damaskos officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
