Zella Flagg

Zella Flagg, age 92, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born on July 25, 1915 to George N. and Mary W. (Peckart) Groves in Auburn, Indiana. Zella was employed at the Kroger Co. for over 20 years in the Meat Department before retiring. She enjoyed quilt making, sewing and gardening, especially her roses. Zella loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William "Bill" Flagg, sisters, Violet Bentz and Ellen DeHart and brothers, Orville, Homer and Herman Groves. Zella is survived by her children, James (Shirley) Flagg and Margaret "Marge" (Jim) Baumgartner; daughter-in-law, Carolyn W. Flagg; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Overfield.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
