Yvonne M. Rosiak

August 26, 1935 — November 11, 2021

Yvonne Marie Rosiak, 86, died Nov. 11, 2021 in her home in Toledo, OH. She was born Aug. 26, 1935 in Toledo to Anne (LaComb) and Ovila Veilleux. Family was always important to Yvonne. She was very close to her parents and brothers and sisters, sharing a special bond with her older brother Bob and her sister Shirley.

Yvonne was a graduate of Whitney Vocational High School, Class of 1953. After graduation she married Joseph Rosiak at Rosary Cathedral on July 18, 1953. Yvonne was a hard worker, and over the years worked at Jeep, Keifer Tool and Supply Co., the Fraternal Order of Eagles and finally for The Cherrydale Farm Co.

Her husband Joey was the love of her life through good times and bad. They loved each other greatly and were wonderful parents to their children, Mark and Yvette. The family shared many good times together, enjoying family outings and vacations, often creating lasting memories with her sister Shirley's family. When her children were grown Yvonne enjoyed caring for and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a no-nonsense yet loving influence on them, and her house became like a second home.

Yvonne always loved getting the whole family, as well as her children's friends, together at her home for holidays or for any reason to have a party. No one ever left hungry, as she and her sister and daughter would spend hours preparing a feast and then exhort everyone to "Eat!" She created many lasting, wonderful memories.

Yvonne was plain spoken and was not afraid to use colorful profanity when needed. She always did it with humor and made everyone laugh while making her point. Yvonne was a tough, exciting and wonderful lady. Her frankness and humor will be greatly missed.

Yvonne was an avid football fan who delighted in cheering on or yelling at her teams depending on how well they played. She also enjoyed watching old movies and westerns. She loved teaching her grandchildren how to play poker and the thrill of scratch-off lotto tickets.

When anyone, but particularly family members, fell on hard times, Yvonne was the first to step forward to help and to continue as long as assistance was needed. She tirelessly took excellent care of her mother and sister Shirley as their health failed. Yvonne lit holy candles and said her rosary daily to provide spiritual as well as physical support. She was generous to many charities, particularly St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joey; sisters, Shirley (Bob) Yingling, and Carol (Herbie) Tarsha; brothers, Bob Veilleux, Bruce (JoAnne) Veilleux; and daughter, Yvette Grimsley.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Mary Ellen) Rosiak; son-in-law, Michael Grimsley; grandchildren, Brandon (Michelle) Rosiak, Nicole Fox, Misty (Jason) Vigh, Allison (Dan) Connors, Trilby Fox, Robert Rosiak, and Teresa Rosiak; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, and nephews.
