Winona Thomas, age 74, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at home. She was born on June 13, 1939. She enjoyed gardening, reading and crafting. Winona was a loving, beautiful, caring dedicated soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Winona is survived by her 5 children, Vickie Sparks, Michael (Ester) Carner, Florence Moore, David Carner and Jayne Doss; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Thomas; son, Timothy Carner; sister, Ethel Elkert; and brother, Howard Rochester.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
