Winifred C. Hendricks passed away Monday, October 10th, 2005, at the age of 88. She lived a full and joyous life married to George E. Hendricks who passed away in 1989. Winifred was a lifetime member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Scott High School in 1935 and then entered the University of Toledo in 1936, where she was one of the first women in the Engineering Department. She worked as a Draftsperson for the former Delos Palmer and Associates on Jackman Rd. and later moved to the Toledo Scale Company. Winifred was an avid water color artist and a past member of the Toledo Artists Club for several years. She also enjoyed bird watching which she used as inspiration for her many painting projects.
She is survived by her brother, Ellsworth B. Lee; sons, Leonard L. (Amy) Hendricks and Richard E. Hendricks and his children, Rachel and Matthew Hendricks.
The family will receive guests on Friday, October 14th, 2005 from 3 - 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Toledo Memorial Park Chapel with interment to follow. Services will be conducted by Clif Boutelle.
