Winfield C. "Win" Tussing, age 72, of Northwood, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy hospital. He was born February 10, 1936 to Charles and Kathryn (Newman) Tussing, Jr. in Deshler, Ohio. Win was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country proudly. He was employed with Montgomery Wards Auto Center for 8 years, retiring in 1985. In addition to enjoying spending time with family and friends, Win was a member of Citizen Band Radio under the name, "Pear Tree" for 42 years and a member of the Trikes Association, BTW.
In addition to his father Win was preceded in death by great grandsons, Gage, Cage and Caleb. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Edith L. (Tompkins) Tussing; sons, Richard (Hope); Rodney (Theresa) and Ronald (Bobbi) Tussing; mother; Kathryn Tussing; brothers, Daniel (Sheri); James (Mary); Kenneth (Dorys) and Thomas (Roseann) Tussing; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lisa Tussing; dear friends, Hank & Cathy Brining and Eric Hill and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive guests Monday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Deacon Charles Meyers. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Garden, Waterville, Ohio.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
The Tussing Family would be honored to have "Pops" friends join them Tuesday for his last ride.
