William Wellington Wright, Jr., age 79, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday evening, May 6th, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 17th, 1929 to William W. "Red" and Vera G. (Hutchins) Wright, Sr. in Toledo. In his younger years Bill was a proud member of the United States Navy Reserves, a carpenter and a member of the Carpenter's Union Local #248 and also the Lather Union Local #24 for many, many years during his career. He was also seen by many at Inky's where he worked security for several years. Bill enjoyed flying, almost receiving his private pilots license, traveling to Florida and fishing. Most importantly Bill was a proud father and grandfather and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Rose (Mories) Wright and siblings, Mildred Paskiewicz; Lina Galvin and baby brother, Charlie Wright. Bill is survived by his children, Leslie (Jim) Anderson; Dawn Livecchi of Cleveland; William Wellington Wright, III and his wife, Sharon; Wendy (Dana) LaCourse and Janelle Wright; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren with 1 on the way, several nieces, nephews and dear friends and neighbor and "adopted daughter", Kathy Davis.
The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
The Wright Family would like to thank Visiting Nurse Katie; Dr. Jeffrey Maludy and his nurse Barb and staff and ProMedica Hospice, especially Lisa for all the loving care and support they provided for Bill.
