William L. Slawter

William L. "Bill" Slawter, age 67, of Toledo, passed away May 25, 2019 in his home. Bill was born December 13, 1951 in Toledo to Lester and Mary (Columbo) Slawter. He had worked for Rubels CB and was an avid CBer using the handle "Snake". He had also worked as a truck driver for National Freight, Caliber Logistics, FedEx Supply Chain Services and Whitaker. He liked to fish, play guitar and work on his 1930 Ford Coupe. Bill was a family man who loved all of his children and was proud of each one of them.

In addition to his parents, William was also preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Marie Slawter, sister, Linda Daly and brother, James Slawter. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Doreen G. (Lemay) Slawter, children, William L. (Laura) Slawter, Jr., Lester Ray (Pamela) Slawter, Victoria L. (Steve) Fry, siblings, Ray (Sue) Gremminger, Frank (Thu) Evans, Fleeta Lemay, Helen (Massoud) Ketabian, Cindy Cook, Cathy (James) Meek, Doris (Bill Weinstein) Slawter, Rachel (Jay) Jarrell; grandchildren, Karianna, William, Carl, Daniel, Anya, Nichole, Robert, Ronnie (deceased), Raymond, Robin and Ryan.

In accordance with Bill's wishes private services will be held and a memorial service will be held at a later date for friends to gather.

Memorial contributions may be made to Esophageal Cancer Research in Bill's memory.
