William C. Sights, age 93, of Toledo, passed away August 28, 2020 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born September 28, 1926 in Albain, MS to William and Augusta (Barnett) Sights.
William enlisted in the Air Force on January 21, 1949 and served his country during the Korean War and WWII until October 27, 1952. On December 4, 1955 William married Helen C. Peterson. He was a devoted member of Pentecostal Church of God for many years. In William's free time he enjoyed fishing, model trains, and researching the Bible.
He is survived by his son, Freddie Robinson; grandchildren, Fred (Patrina) Sights, Marlon (Reva) Robinson, Kimberly Phillips, Steven Parks, Darrel Hunt, Shamar Robinson, Arletha Robinson, and Darrell Robinson; Marshelle Shelton, mother of great-grandchildren, Tyler Sights, Damion Sights, Ivan Sights, Joshua Sights, Josephine Galloway, Selina Galloway, James Galloway; and siblings, Franklin Dunn and Jewel Griddine.
William was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 62 years, Helen C. Sights; and daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Robinson.
The family will receive guests Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). A graveside service will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucas County Veteran Services in William's memory.
