William H. "Bill" Schrag, age 49, of Sylvania, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2007 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with his devoted wife by his side. He was born on December 14, 1957 to L. Scott and Joan (Ryder) Schrag in Pasadena, TX. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed as the Clerk of Courts with the Federal Court for many years. Bill then went on to be the Associate Director for the Open Door Ministry and then a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in Paulding Co. Most recently he was a counselor with the Board of Mental Retardation. Bill was an avid Detroit Tigers and University of Toledo fan. He was a semi-professional pool player, enjoyed camping and sitting poolside. Bill often enjoyed showing off his knowledge of card tricks, always puzzling someone. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Bill was a wonderful, loving, caring husband, father, son, brother and friend who will deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Schrag. Bill is survived by his loving wife of almost 15 years: Sheila (Look) Schrag; children: Joy (Tim) Smith, Robert (Alicia) Priebe, CPL Jeremy Clark and William H. Schrag, II; grandchildren: Angel, Jeffrey and Samantha Rose; Mother: Joan Ryder-Schrag; brother: Steven Schrag; niece: Amy Schrag; nephews: Steven, Andy and Paul Schrag; and aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear AA friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, May 20, 2007 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, (419-473-0300) from 2 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
