William R. Path

William R. "Bill" Path, 86 years, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Lake Park in Sylvania. A life-long Toledo resident, he was born at home on October 14, 1928 to William and Bertha (Fick) Path. After graduating from Libbey High School, he went to Ballinger, TX for open tryouts for the Class D Ballinger Colts baseball club. He was signed by the Colts as a catcher and that is where he met and married his wife of 67 years, Lucille E. (Baldwin) Path. After returning to Ohio, he was employed for 30 years by Armour and Co. then by Williams Meats. He was an avid bowler who bowled in the Times Traveling League. He also loved golf and played regularly with the "gang" into his eighties.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughter, Lauren Path; grandson, David Buchman; son-in-law, William "Chip" Buchman; sister, Alice (Jack) Bade; 8 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, oldest daughter, Debra Buchman and sister Patricia (Robert) Fellabaum.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Burial to follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery on Monroe Street in Sylvania, Ohio.
