William G. Parkins, Sr., age 75, passed away on March 20, 2018. He was born on August 11, 1942 to the late Iflow (Mercereau) and George Parkins in Dunbar, West Virginia.
Bill was a proud Navy Veteran and served during the Cuban Crisis on the USS Lake Champlain. He wrestled in the Navy winning 5 of the New England States. Bill was proud of his son's involvement in wrestling as well. He was a graduate of Rogers High School. He was a member of Toledo Fort Industry #144 and a Shriner. Bill owned Parkins Plumbing and was a Master Plumber. He retired from Local 50. Bill loved his family very much.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 32 years, Marian; children, Wendy (Bruce) Fredrick, Deborah (Keith) Crouch, William "Billy" (Sarin) Parkins, John (Tabatha) Berry, Christopher Parkins, Nicholas Parkins; grandchildren, Sarah, Karolanne, KayEllen, Sarina, Billy III, Konner, Evie, Keith, Jayden, Tyler and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Natalie; and the Fackler family. Bill was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kelsey Whitmore.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Masonic Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Burial will take place at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
