William O. Myers Sr.

William O. Myers Sr., age 85, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away October 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by the love of his family. William was born November 10, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Wilfred and Ada (Cornelison) Myers.

William attended Woodward High School. He worked as a truck driver for Roadway Express, where he retired after 20 long dedicated years. He enjoyed learning new technology, classic cars, playing bingo, gambling, and Saturday night poker night with his friends. A tradition that William kept over the years was dinner and a movie night every Tuesday; something that his family enjoyed and looked forward to doing. William was known for wearing his white hat and always helping anyone in need. He had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. Williams smile and love will forever be missed by those who knew him. This is not goodbye, but we will see you again!

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving children, Margie (Jim) Hawkins, Teresa Hall, Wilfred Myers, and Billy (Bert) Myers Jr.; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Harry Myers; and sisters, Virginia Schondell and Gladys Pounds.

In addition to his parents, William was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Myers; and sisters, Alice Silcox, Esther Myers, and Mary Ann Ceglio.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Williams funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Andrew Edwards officiating. Following the service, William will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
