William "Poppy" Mckown, resident of Toledo, OH, passed away March 21, 2023 at age 80. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Sizemore) Mckown. Cherished father of Kent Mckown, Kelly Carson, Pauline (Tim) Crouch, Candy (Jeff) Short, Misty Tilford. Adored grandfather of 13, and great-grandfather of 8. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma (nee Schaffer) Mckown, his 11 siblings and one great-grandson, JJ.
William worked for Greyhound Lines for 25+ years. Later in life, he worked for Sylvania Public School System as a bus driver. He adored his position as a bus driver and remained close with his students. William cherished his family and grandchildren the most. With one great-grandchild on the way, being named "Poppy", his love and adoration for his family will continue for more generations.
In lieu of flowers, please give donations in William's honor to Helen Devos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.
A private visitation and service will be held for William, he will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park in Toledo, OH.
