William McConnell, 68, of Toledo, OH, passed away at home on August 18, 2012.
Bill was the beloved husband to Josie for 49 years. Their 8th grade love has shown that endless love is possible. His greatest achievements were his children and his "Irish smiles" will forever be his grandkids. Bill was born in Dayton, OH; graduated from Kiser High School. He joined the Air Force and was a member of the Minuteman Nuclear Response Team during the Vietnam War. He retired from the transportation field.
Bill is survived by his wife, Josie; children, Bill (Robin), Cheryl (Marshall) and Sean (Julie); grandkids, Kelly, Allison, Erin, Morgan, Zachary, Breanna, Ryan and Danielle; siblings, Del (Peggy) and Judy and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy.
Bill will forever be remembered as an avid reader, solving crossword puzzles and always having a hot cup of coffee. The family would like to extend special gratitude to his Hospice Angels for their care.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 2-4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Toledo (419-473-0300). A memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Parkway, Toledo.
