William Anthony Lee, age 91, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Flower Hospital. He was born July 10, 1929 in Greensboro to Frank and Paula (Chavez) Lee. William was a US Army Veteran serving his country proudly in Korea. He was awarded several medals and citations during his military career while being assigned to the 45th Infantry Division & Republic of Korea Presidential Units. William received awards including a Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Metal with Bronze Combat Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Citation Medal.
He met and married the love of his life Edna Miller on June 6, 1953 and together they raised their two children. William was a Graphic Arts Photographer with the Academy Group, formerly The Academy Art & Science Studio for more than 25 years.
William was an avid gun collector with respect for their histories and usage. He also enjoyed photography, stamp collecting and working through crossword puzzles. During his retirement years he spent many hours watching old movies, Classic Westerns or anything "John Wayne" were his favorites. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, cherishing the time spent with family and friends. There are also many memories his children will keep close from many years of family vacations. One of the many high points in his life was his travel to Russia to experience its surroundings and history.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 56 years, Edna (Miller) Lee; brothers, James and Albert and sister, Lillian. He is survived by his children, Pamela (Douglas) Stieb of MI and Phillip (Diana) Lee of AK; grandchildren, Taylor, Casey, Landan and Badger and sister, Margaret.
Guests are invited to join the family for a Graveside Service on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Toledo Memorial Park beginning at 11 a.m.
