William J. "Bill" Mayo, age 80, of Temperance, MI, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Goerlich Center. He was born November 20, 1935 to William and Dorothy (Sahloff) Mayo in Toledo. Bill worked at Chrysler Corp. retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service. He loved being in the garage and working on cars. Bill enjoyed camping, playing horseshoe's and euchre with family and friends. He was an avid Nascar fan, especially of the Earnhardt's, Sr. & Jr. Bill was an animal lover, mostly of dogs; he and his wife Charlotte were always donating to many animal organizations. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte; and brother, Greg Mayo. Bill is survived by his loving children, Mark (Jill) Mayo, Denice (David) Easton and Michael (Nancy Hill) Mayo; grandchildren, Autumn, Shannan (Erick), Justin, Zachary and Lucas; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Erick; sister, Marla (Chuck) Diamond; daughter-in-law, Diana Mayo; and many other family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Monday from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) where Memorial Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
