William W. Hartford

April 20, 1981 — April 29, 2021

William W. "Billy" Hartford, age 40, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. He was born April 20, 1981 into a loving family in Toledo. When Billy was placed into his mother's open arms on that day there was an instant "Mother-Son" bond and a lifetime of love and laughter followed.

Billy graduated from Waite High School, Class of 2000. After graduating he started his working career. Billy loved being around people so a job at Huntington Center and Fifth Third Field in concessions was a perfect fit. Billy enjoyed making people smile and quickly earned the nickname "Popcorn Billy" to friends and sports fans at Huntington and Fifth Third Field. He was employed with those 2 businesses for more than 20 years.

Billy had a fascination and a love for vintage and muscle cars. He looked forward to the many trips with his brothers to car shows admiring each car on display. When he was at home in Toledo Billy always looked forward to cruising around in his brothers 1949 turquois blue Plymoth ... what a cool ride that was!

Billy was also an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon with the famous 24. When those cars were racing, Billy was cheering them on. Billy was known as a sports enthusiast and avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Toledo Walleye and Storm and the Detroit Red Wings. He also enjoyed camping with his family and friends, Pam and Leona and fishing whenever the opportunity came up.

Most importantly, Billy was a kind and loving person who truly cared about others, giving freely of his time and attention. He just wanted everyone around him to feel cared about and loved. He loved his Mom and brothers and always promised to be there for them. Billy was a remarkable and fun person. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him and referred to him lovingly as "Popcorn Billy", "Woodchuck" or "Hilly-Billy".

In addition to his grandparents, George and Donna Robinson he was also preceded in death by his uncles, Ernest, William, and Ronnie Robinson; his camping buddy, Leona and neighborhood friends, Wally and Eddie Evans. Billy is survived by his devoted mother, Diana Robinson; brothers, Christopher, Adam (Emily), Andrew (Lauren) and Matt; nephew, Jackson; aunts, Connie Robinson and Diana Born; George Marshall who was like a father to him; his many friends at Huntington Center and 5th/3rd Field; neighbors who were like his 2nd family, Miriam Evans, Tammy Lux and Mark & Debbie Sobczak, Dawn Raker, Dawn Yeager, camping buddy, Pam and family friend, Linda DeNeve who helped Diana get to and from the hospital to visit Billy over the last few weeks. Billy also leaves behind his favorite dogs, Buster and Dale.

There will be a Celebration of Life to remember Billy on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Salem United Methodist Church, 602 Federal Street, Toledo beginning at 12:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Kenneth Dantzler.

The Family will gather at the home of Andrew Kubasek after the service. See Diana for further details.

For the safety of family and guests, masks must be worn at the church and at the family gathering at Andrew's home.

The Robinson Family would like to thank the Staff of St. Vincent Hospital Trauma, Surgical and ICU Departments and Dr.. Frank Abbotti and Chris for the loving care and support they provided for Billy during these very difficult times. A special recognition is also important to be given to all those who have been a part of Billy's life, giving him your friendship and love, he thought the world of each of you and was blessed to have you in his life.

To Linda DeNeve, thank you for your kindness and never-ending support for Diana in helping her prepare for this time.
