William H. "Bill" Scott, III, 86, of Sylvania, went to meet the Lord May 6, 2013.
He was a vessel for spreading God's word through his paintings in the style of the, "Old Masters." Bill showed his work locally throughout the U.S. and New York, Palm Beach and has many of his works in private collections in the U.S. and Europe.
He was a member of the Who's Who in the Arts, American Artists Professional League, Artists USA, Biographical Dir. Of American Artists, American Fed. of Arts, Allied Artists of America, and over 50 one-man shows including Toledo Museum of Art Invitational Gallery VIII during the "Great Age of Rembrandt" exhibit. He was singled out by, "Arts in the Embassy" program for ambassadors in Copenhagen and Brussels, Belgium where his paintings were displayed.
Bill also collected Indian relics which he learned to love from growing up in Alton, Illinois near the Cahokia Mounds.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Gloria; and loving daughter, Bonnie. He was preceded in death by his parents, George P. and Isabelle Scott and sister, Suzanne McCafferty.
There will be no visitation and services are private for Bill. Interment will take place in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
