William "Bill" D. Graving, age 61, of Holland, Ohio suddenly passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born September 12, 1950 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Donald and Laura Graving. Bill was a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He owned his own business for 30 years, and upon retiring, Bill secured a position with Mercy St. Vincent's as a courier. Bill and wife Jan, have lived in Toledo for 22 years. He was an active parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where he has been involved in the Christ Renews His Parish retreat, and the Sunday morning Men's Group. Bill has also been involved with Promise Keepers for 17 years. He had a passion for the homeless and needy and was very charitable to them.
Left to cherish his memory, wife, Jan of 25 years; children, Katie (Benton Wilford), Laura, Jake and Josh Graving; brothers, Robert (Sue), Mike (Claudia), Richard Graving; sister, Kathy Everett; nieces and nephews, Cindy, Brad, Becky, Bob, Amy and Lauren; brother-in-law, Mike (Audrey) Kostrzewa and mother-in-law, Joan Kostrzewa.
The family will receive guests Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., (419-381-1900) where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
