William L. "Bill" Dreyer, age 73, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on February 17, 1938 to Louis and Lillian (Chambers) Dreyer in Toledo. Bill was employed with Hostess as a driver and salesman for 36 years before retiring. He was an avid golfer, known as the Mayor of Cherrywood. Bill loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and grandchildren. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Edwards. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Heddie Dreyer; children, Jeff (Linda) Dreyer, Kim (Patrick) Ferguson, Bill (Daria) Dreyer and Diane Dreyer; grandchildren, Brad, Matt, Brian (Amanda), Chris (Dana), Jared, Dane, Samantha, Nicholas and Christina; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Brayden, Alexis, Paige and Kenzie; sisters, Ruth (Glen) Stadler and Caroline (Chuck) Dolt; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
