William J. Carl, age 89, of Maumee, OH passed away October 23, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born January 29, 1932 in Toledo to William and Rose (Dibling) Carl. Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as a Diesel Mechanic with Spilker-Duff and Carolina. Bill enjoyed bowling at Timbers, Southwyck and Tri-County Lanes. He had a lifetime passion for cars and gardening. Bill was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and The Ohio State Football team. Bill also loved to travel and enjoyed the trip with his family members almost as much as the destination. Bill loved his family with his whole heart and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lois (Kerschbaum) Carl; second wife, Faye (Burner) Carl and brother, James L. Carl. He is survived by his children, Colleen (Michael) Kuszek, Debra (Michael) Beam, Donna (Thomas) Beam and Steven (Jennifer) Burner; sister, Mary Ann LaFleur; grandchildren, Kristen (Christopher) Rupert, Kelsey (Adam) Kaczala, Dustin Every, Jenna (Rian) Mullholand, Brianna (Josh) Vermeesch, Melissa (Brandon) Moser, Tyler Burner and Courtney Burner, great-grandchildren, Piper, Dakota, Brodie, Calvin, Emery and Malcolm.
The family will receive guests, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo, 1842 Airport Highway, Toledo, OH. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association in Bill's memory.
