William C. "Chuck" Brewster, age 89, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Point Place Care and Rehab Center, where his loving and devoted wife was by his side. He was born November 26, 1923 to Charles P. and Mildred (Gillette) Brewster in Trilby. Chuck proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. He retired from Dura-Corp after many years of service. Chuck enjoyed being outdoors and he especially enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and feeding the birds in his backyard. He was an avid OSU fan and rooted for the Toledo Mud Hens and Detroit Tigers.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Jane (Wilson) Brewster; children, Jerry (Janet) Brewster, Diane (Jeff) Johns and Debbie (Jeff) Buck; grandchildren, Heather, Brian (Trish), Kim (Jeff), Kristi, Brent (Sarah), Jennifer, Jason(Laura), Justin (Melissa), Jim (Eric), Tim (Staci), Kristie (Scott) and Jenna (Corey); 21 loving great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Marlene) Brewster of Sarasota, FL; brother-in-law, Fred Boysen; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Florence Mesteller, Billie Taylor and Sue Boysen.
The family will receive guests on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio.
Chuck's family would like to specially thank the nurses and aides at Point Place Care and Rehab for the diligent care and love they provided to him and his wife, Betty Jane.
