William "Bill" Charles Peters, Jr, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023 at the age of 97. He was born on May 21, 1926 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Violet Peters. Bill enjoyed his childhood, often visiting his grandparents at their farm in Grand Rapids, Ohio where he became a local wildlife enthusiast. He would go on later in life to enjoy hunting and fishing.
After graduating from Libby High School he went to work at American Floor where he met Joyce Mary Cousino, whom he married in 1951. They enjoyed life together for 61 years until Joyce died in 2012. They had four children, Ken, Denny, Toni, and Pamela.
Bill and Joyce lived in Point Place and later in Sylvania, Ohio. They attended St. John and Christ the King Catholic Church. Education was important to Bill as all of Bill's children can attest.
For over 30 years Bill worked at Cousino Medal Products as the Manager of Engineering and Cold Forge Die Designing. He retired early in 1986 to care for his wife Joyce who had developed some chronic health problems. Bill was a talented craftsman as he worked on projects at their home in Toledo and cottage in Brooklyn, Michigan. He was a life-long Detroit Tigers fan.
Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a good listener and wise, humble, caring, patient, understanding, and supportive.
One of Bill's joys was to drive in the countryside and identify the various crops to the other occupants of the automobile as they passed by. He was loved and will be lovingly missed.
Bill is survived by his children, Kenneth (Beth), Dennis (Kathy), Toni (Terri), Pam (Darwin), 8 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by Joyce's and his caregiver, Tricia.
