William "Bill" P. Lane, born on December 8, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away on December 24, 2024, in Sylvania, Ohio. Bill enjoyed a fulfilling career at Ford Motor Company, where he served as a crib attendant for over 30 years before retiring in 1998.
Devoted family man, Bill cherished his large extended family and held dear the memories of shared moments, particularly with his late wife, Joy Lane, who preceded him in death in 2005. Bill was proud to be the firstborn boy in his family, and while he loved to reminisce about his youthful days of modifying and working on muscle cars with friends, it was the love for his Harley Davidson motorcycle that truly captured his adventurous spirit.
His deep-rooted Catholic faith and the bonds he cultivated within his church community were of utmost importance to him throughout his life. Bill is remembered for his kindness, storytelling prowess, and his genuine affection for those around him.
Bill is survived by his sisters, Jane Gralak and Sara Edwards, and her husband, Lee; his special nephew, Jim Meek, and his wife, Cathy; along with a host of nieces and nephews and many close personal friends. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, David Denner; his goddaughter, Susan Dodds, her (Joy) goddaughters, Karen Woodruff and Diane Szteiter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and six brothers and sisters: Barbara Huth, Patty Denner, Robert Lane, Richard Lane, Kitty Kaminski, and Mike Lane.
