William Bender

William B. Bender, age 78, of Delta, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 in Heartland of Wauseon. He was born November 14, 1929 to William and Francis (Weaver) Bender in Toledo. Bill was employed with New York Central Railroad and Jeep for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors camping, and hunting for mushrooms and asparagus. Bill will be fondly remembered by his family for his love of traveling to places near and far. Wherever he arrived it was a short visit and then back to his travels. Bill was also a friend of Bill W. for 34 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ted and Mike Bender and stepmother, Ruth Bender. Bill is survived by his daughters, Linda Temple and Brinda (Richard) Scarberry; son, Danny (Cindy) Bender; sister, Rosemary (Marco) Wood; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio.
