Willa Mae "Annie" McGough, 90, was granted her angel wings on December 22. 2012. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in a wonderful way throughout her memorable life. Those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile brought so much joy to our family. Willa Mae gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She loved her children, grandchildren, many friends, relatives and church family. She enjoyed music and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry McGough and loving son, Arthur McGough. Willa is survived by her loving daughter, Denise McGough; daughter-in-law, Edith McGough; special granddaughter, Rhonda McGough; grandsons, Justin (Haley) McGough, Robert Beasley and Kipp McGough; cousins, Gloria Bridgeman, Betty Willis, Arthur Taylor and Julianna Taylor; special niece Lolita Armstrong; cousin, Lucille Johnson; special friends, Betty Adams and Gloria Walker; and numerous friends and relatives.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with Order of the Eastern Star Services at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 1502 N. Detroit Ave., Toledo with visitation one hour prior. Officiating will be Rev. James H. Willis, Sr. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
