Wilbur D. Hoel

Wilbur D. Hoel, age 88, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015. He was born on May 21, 1926 to Cletus and Florence (Turner) Hoel in Toledo. Wilbur worked for The Kroger Co. for over 35 years as a meat cutter, later retiring. In 1972 he received a kidney transplant and was the longest living transplant recipient in Ohio.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Larry (Cindy) Hoel and daughter, Becky Martin; grandchildren, Lucas (Jennifer) Hoel, Kayla (Michael) Haynes, Lydia (Stephen) Roller, Kathy (Mike) Smith, Gregory (Sabrina) Martin and Lindsey Martin; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Miriam Taylor and Helen Hatcher; friend and caregiver, Sharon Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hoel.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
