Wendy Sue Smith, age 69, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2018 at Hospice. Wendy was born February 11, 1949 in Toledo to Hiram and Juanita (Carter) Fowler.
She was very passionate about her work as a caseworker, with Lucas County Job and Family Services. She enjoyed helping families and working with her community. She previously held the positions of Secretary and Vice Chair at AFSCME Local 544. Wendy retired after 25 years just this past May. She enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her granddaughters.
In addition to her parents, Wendy was also preceded in death by her Sisters Judy, Peggy, Barb and Betsy; Nephew, David.
She will be greatly missed by her Daughter, Heather (Patrick) Pottker; Son, Anthony Smith; Granddaughters, Sarah and Haley.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. ~ 6:00 p.m with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. Toledo, OH 43623 (419) 472-0300.
