Wayne Thomas, age 71, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 while vacationing in Bradenton, Florida. Wayne was a resident of Lambertville, Michigan for over 40 years. Wayne was born in Crooksville, Ohio to Jesse and Helen (Mahaney) Thomas on December 5, 1938. He was employed at G.M. Power Train for over 33 years as a quality control analyst, retiring in 1993. Wayne was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1955 until 1958 as a medic on a helicopter ambulance.
Wayne leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Susan (Schroder) Thomas. They were married February 6, 1960. Together they had 5 children, David (Kathy), Larry, Jeff, Margaret (died shortly after birth) and Angela (Patrick) Williams. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren Wayland, Michael and Jennifer; Weston, Emily and Elizabeth; Ridge, Angelica and Sabrina; sister, Lily (John) Buty; two brothers, Junior (Judi) and Raymond; sister-in-law, Linda. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Eunice, Alberta and Carolyn; two brothers, Howard and Robert.
The family will receive guests 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Duke Crawford. Interment will follow in Lambertville Cemetery in Lambertville, Michigan.
