Wayne Roop

Ralph "Wayne" Roop, age 72, of Toledo, passed away March 3, 2017 at his home. He was born June 24, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina to Ralph and Ruth (Rogers) Roop. Wayne was employed with the Toledo Public Schools for more than 25 years retiring in 2004. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the Detroit teams and the University of Michigan. Wayne loved tending to his garden and walking with his dog, "Holly." He was people oriented and enjoyed interacting with others.

Wayne is survived by his sister, Annette Wilson; niece, Kim A. (Jerry) Lynn; special friends, Sandy and Pauline Witt and their families; and canine companion, "Holly."

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio with Pastor Jamie Gill officiating. A Celebration of Wayne's Life will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Waterford Estates Clubhouse, 4855 Angola Road, Toledo, Ohio 43615. Please come dressed in your favorite sporting attire.
