Wayne S. Rahm of Oregon, Ohio passed away on August 14, 2024, on his 89th birthday, surrounded by his loving family. Wayne's proudest achievement was serving in the United States Army, where he was stationed at McCully Barracks in Wachenheim, Germany, being honorably discharged in 1956. Wayne retired from AP Parts and then worked at Brondes Ford for several years.
Wayne was an avid Nascar fan, cheering for Jeff Gordon and more recently Kyle Larson. He followed the late Rollie Beale of Toledo during his entire USAC sprint car racing career. Another favorite past time of Wayne's was bowling. He bowled in many different local mens' leagues, where he met many lifelong friends. Wayne was a HUGE fan of The Ohio State University football team, and did not hide how he felt about "That Team Up North."
Wayne was proceeded in death by his parents, Wayne and Jennie Rahm, as well as his stepmother, Cecil Rahm; sisters, Ruth (Milo) Myers and Beverly (Tom) Quigley; and son, George Rahm.
Wayne is survived by Darlene, his loving wife of 63 years; brothers, John (Patt) Rahm and Rick (Karen) Rahm; daughter, Ute (Robert) Ash; sons, Ted (Dawn) Rahm and Keith (Melinda) Rahm. Wayne also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel at 4150 W. Laskey Rd. Toledo, OH 43623. The funeral service will be conducted the following morning at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with burial at Toledo Memorial Park following shortly afterwards.
