Wayne "Gus Hollywood" L. Momberg

Wayne “Gus Hollywood” L. Momberg age 78 of North Fort Myers. FL. (formerly of Lambertville, MI) passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Wayne was born April 23, 1946 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo to Russell And Evelyn (Byrne) Momberg who preceded him in death along with his son Douglas Scott and his brother Dale.

Wayne grew up in the Trilby area where he attended Trilby School and Whitmer High School where he graduated in 1965. Wayne was an Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War for four years and was honorably discharged in 1970.

Wayne worked 17 years at the Sheller Globe City Auto Stamping Co. During that time, he went to school for a four-year apprenticeship program to become a journeyman machine repairman. Wayne also worked 33 years at Toledo Chrysler Jeep in the maintenance department.

Wayne and Caroline married in 1971 and had lived in Lambertville, MI from 1972 until recently moving to North Fort Myers, FL. Wayne was a member of the Lambertville Volunteer Fire Department for 13 years. Wayne was also a member of U.A.W. local #14, Sylvania Moose Lodge #1579, Sylvania, Ohio, the Rossford Eagles Aerie #2322, Rossford, Ohio and the American Legion # 0336 (Ralph W. Spacks Post) North Fort Myers, FL.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Caroline, daughter Debbyann (Jim) Bowler of PA. and son Daniel (Lynn Liming) Momberg of Perrysburg. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 2-8 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home 4150 West Laskey Rd., Toledo. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Jeffrey Lavalette, officiating. Burial will be at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania.
