Walter H. Roloff, age 88, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 in the University of Toledo Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 9, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Clara Roloff. Walter served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 55 for 58 years. While Walter was an Iron Worker he was past coordinator for the National Iron Workers Training Program in the 1970's, also served as past executive board member and recording secretary for the Iron Workers. Walter served as past delegate for the International Iron Workers Convention. He also taught the OSHA safety training program for the Iron Workers. Walter was a lifetime member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Toledo where he was active as an usher and in the brotherhood. He was a mason and a member of Anthony Wayne Toastmasters International, where he won several speaking awards. Walter was truly a blessing to his family, they meant everything to him. He knew how much his family loved him and his family knew how much he loved them.
Left to cherish his memory are children, Gary Roloff and Shelley (James) Malcuit; grandchildren, Timothy Malcuit and Nancy (Joseph) DiSalle; great grandchildren, Vivian Elise, Ava Grace, Anthony Joseph and Grant Michael DiSalle. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Roloff and sister, Betty Flynn.
Funeral services for Walter will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 428 North Erie Street, Toledo, Ohio 43604 where the family will greet guests one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
