Walter Mcgranahan

Walter E. McGranahan, age 87, went home to be with his Lord on March 18, 2009. He was born on April 25, 1921 to Walter and Catherine (Loree) McGranahan in Youngstown, OH. Walter attended Bedford Nazarene Church. He served in the US Navy and is a WWII Veteran. He was a blessing to his family and to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife Joan of 23 years, and his wife Maxine of 37 years, brother Donald, and sisters Mildred Hansen and Edith Blake, one granddaughter, Rachel and one great granddaughter, Kelcie. He is survived by his loving children: Judy (Robert) Britt, of Toledo; Cathy (Donald) Guy, of Winter Haven, FL; Ronnie (Vickie) McGranahan, of Toledo; Walt (Jan) McGranahan, of Holland; Bonnie (Ray) Johnson, of Curtice; Pat McGranahan, of Toledo; Randy (Chris) McGranahan, of Waterville; and Donnie (Teri) McGranahan, of Walbridge; 22 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also survived by his younger brother Robert Lee McGranahan of Carlisle, Pa.


The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Vince Flippo. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
