Walter R. Hasenbalg, age 93, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born on September 27, 1923 to Edwin and Margaret Hasenbalg in Toledo. Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. serving during WWII, working on the training Fighter Planes. Walter was employed with the City of Toledo for over 30 years until retiring.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Hasenbalg; son, Thomas Hasenbalg; great-grandson, Xavier Hasenbalg; and 12 siblings. Walter is survived by his sons, Robert (Marjorie) and Dennis (Linda) Hasenbalg; grandchildren, Deanna (Rob), Heather, Joshua (Rachel), Stephanie, Derek and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Thomas (Starr), Alyssa, Bailey, Caitlyn, Elijah and Braden; great-great-grandsons, Cameron and Blaine; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be Private at Forest Cemetery at a later date.
