Walter E. Baker, age 86, of Toledo, passed away February 19, 2016 at The Cleveland Clinic. Walter was born November 5, 1929 in Toledo to James and Mildred Baker. He was employed with AP Parts for more than 30 years retiring in 1984. Walter was a member of the American Legion Post #110 and VFW Point Place #3265. Walter served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an avid fan of U of M Football and loved Auto Racing, especially Dale, Sr.
In addition to his parents, Walter was also preceded in death by his wife, Mabel, sister, Joanne Coyle, and daughter in law, Patricia Baker. He is survived by his children, Richard (Evelyn) Baker, James Baker and Jane (Mark) Graybell; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Florence Crago and Patricia Garrett.
The family will receive guests Friday, February 26, 2016 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9:30 am. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery with military honors.
