Virginia E. Thomas passed away peacefully surrounded by family at The Elizabeth Scott Community Friday afternoon June 30, 2017. She was born October 3, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Henry and Clara Wilhelm.
Virginia was employed as a bookkeeper for many years retiring from Washington Distributors. She and her husband spent many years traveling in their motor home with their children throughout the United States. She also enjoyed crocheting, snowmobiling in northern Michigan, summers and boating in Port Clinton. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Rebecca (Gerald) Holmes, Gary (Angie Heier) Thomas, James (Claudia) Thomas; grandchildren, Jerry (Becky) Holmes, Heather Elliott, Todd (Rachael), Ryan, and Kelly Thomas; great grandchildren, Hadley, Carter, Ethan, Charlotte, and Duke; brother-in-law Red Hardt; sister-in-law June Thomas, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, of 70 years Albert C. Thomas; brothers, Robert and Richard Wilhelm and sister, Carol Hardt.
The family will receive guests from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. The final resting place will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
