Virginia Steele

Virginia "Ginny" Steele, age 83, of Toledo, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Toledo Hospital after a long illness. She was born on June 25, 1925 in Toledo. Ginny married her childhood sweetheart, John Steele on December 19, 1947. She was a homemaker, enjoying raising her two wonderful sons. Ginny was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, where she served as the financial secretary for over 25 years. She loved all sports, especially baseball and golf. Ginny also had a strong affection for her dogs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John in 2000. Ginny is survived by her loving sons, Jack (Colleen) and Tom Steele.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
