Virginia Baker

Virginia Baker (Gumm), 87, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Perrysburg, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Born on February 2, 1938, in Salem, Indiana, Virginia embraced life with warmth and devotion. She dedicated 32 years to her career as a package designer at Great Lakes Corrugated, where her creativity and commitment left a lasting impact.

Virginia's greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Rick (Andrea) Baker; Dick Baker; Bev (Paul) Roudebush; and Jennifer (Ray) Ramirez. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Dianna (Tim), Ricky (Jenn), Arienne, Kaitlyn (Bert), Adam, Nathan, Cassie (Manny), Stacie (Drew), Nicole (Jesse), Justin (Mariah), James (Dani), Markie, and Jacob. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Caleb, Alexa, Averie, Amirah, Mariano, Marco, Alyssa, Logan, Wyatt, Jayden, Noah, Emma, Jackson, Colton, and Carter. Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Lawrence.

She found beauty in life’s simple pleasures—traveling, tending to her garden with care, crocheting intricate creations for loved ones, cooking & baking treats that filled her home with warmth and comfort, and enjoying shopping trips with her daughters. She also delighted in playing the slot machines at the casino, watching her stories like The Young & the Restless, and cherished the companionship of her dog Lilly. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren playing video games, watching WWF & celebrating holidays & birthdays together.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from Noon until 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo. A Funeral Service will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Monday, March 10, 2025. Burial will immediately follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
