Virginia A. Hammer, peacefully passed away on March 26, 2013, one day prior to her 87th birthday. She was born on March 27, 1926 to William and Mary Ellen (Swartz) Hosler. Along with being a devoted mother, Virginia was a food service worker in several Toledo schools and the commissary. After retirement, she was an active member of The Eleanor Kahle Senior Center and enjoyed the camaraderie of her friends while they exercised, played Rummikub and cards, and socialized. Her pride and joy was her family; she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-granddaughter.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Greg (Stacy) and grandsons, Cameron and Brendan; daughter, Geralyn (Walt) Stoll and grandsons, Michael and David (Holley) and great-granddaughter, Brynlee. Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Don and her sisters, Helen Early and Lillian Trammell.
The family will receive guests from 10-11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. with interment following in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
