Virgil Szewczykowski

Virgil Szewczykowski, age 76, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Arbors at Waterville. He was born September 21, 1932 to Francis and Pearl Szewczykowski in Toledo. In his earlier years, Virgil was employed with the Dana Corp. for 28 years then went to be a bus driver for Washington Local Schools for 13 years and most recently worked at Miracle Lanes Bowling Alley for 3 years. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church for many years. Virgil was an avid fan of college basketball and loved the casinos. He loved nothing more than spending time with his granddaughters. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Arlene Szewczykowski; son, Kenneth Szewczykowski; granddaughters, Sarah and Jenna; sister, Delores (Donald) Wojciechowski; brother, Duane Rymer; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
