Virgil "Mick" McBride, age 82, of Toledo passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, April 24, 2013 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born on February 25, 1931 to George and Irene (Potter) McBride in Bowling Green, Ohio. Mick served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist for many years before retiring. Mick was an avid reader and loved being outdoors. He cherished and adored nothing more than the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth McBride. Mick is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy McBride; daughters, Karen (Bob) Hanna and Maureen (Darrell) Cross; son, Scott (Kathy) McBride; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, June (Larry) Voss.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
