Violet A. Parker

Violet A. Parker, age 66, of Deerfield, MI, joined her Lord and Savior peacefully Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 27, 1958 to Albert and Francesca (Geraci) Hay in Norfolk, Virginia. Though known for her many artistic talents Violet’s true love in life was her family. Her grandchildren especially brought joy to her. Whether it be cheering them on at a sporting event, school function, taking trips, camping or playing with them. 

Touched by any one who met her she had an uncanny ability to make everyone around her feel at home and loved. She was a bright light and knowing her was a true blessing. Violet’s contagious smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Rose Frosch; mother-in-law, Ruby Parker. Left to cherish Violet’s memory are her loving husband of 48 years, Johnnie “Steve” Parker, whom she has loved since they were just 12 years old; children, Steven Parker, Nicole (Jim) Emerick, and Matthew (Angela) Parker; grandchildren, Kaden, Evan, Logan, Corbin, Theodore, Isabella, Benjamin, and Delilah; siblings, Linda Hay, Larry Hay, Frances (Randy) Strohl, Joseph Hay, Allen (Kim) Hay, Mary Tressler, and Diane (Tim) Wing; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. 

The family will receive guests on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617 (419-392-9500). Funeral Services will begin Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Deerfield Township Cemetery, 557 Kingsbury Rd, Deerfield, MI 49238.
