Violet M. Epps, age 77, of Toledo, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Flower Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1934 to George and Ruth (Ekblad) Nordin in Detroit, Michigan. Violet worked for the Detroit News and then the Toledo Blade for many years in Classified Sales. She then went on to work in the deli for 12 years at the Anderson's General Store. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, sewing and knitting. Violet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son and sisters, Loraine Long and Millie Lloyd. Violet is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Joe Epps; sons, Mark Fisher, Eric (Sherry) and Dean (Angie) Fischer; grandchildren, Chelsea, Gina, Natalie (A.J.), Aaron, Brianna, Ashley, Brett, Evan and Tad; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Daisy and Luke; father of her sons, Edward Fisher; brother-in-law, Edward Long; nieces, Karen (John) Shelke and Marian (Charles) Benton; and many other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
