Viola L. Abel

Viola L. "Vi" Abel, age 85, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her home where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Independence Day 1930 to William and Cora (Stone) Shuman in Victory, Ohio. Above everything her family was her pride and joy, she often put their needs before her own. When Vi wasn't spending time with her family she could be found playing bingo and watching her favorite cooking shows.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles (Connie), Kathleen (Dale), Terry (Betty), Steve (Mary), Stewart "Buck" (Esther) and Thomas (Kathy); numerous precious grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Zahs and special four legged friend, Max. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Abel; siblings, Eldon Floyd, Harvey, Stewart, Leona, William, Thelma and Norma.

The family will receive guests on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 2-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 6:00 p.m.
