Victoria "Vickie" Dowling, age 97, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Oakleaf Village surrounded by her loving family, who meant the world to her. She was born on November 12, 1916 to Karol and Wanda Pryba. Vickie was very health conscious, enjoyed walking and riding the bus. She was a wonderful baker, her pies were the greatest! Vickie liked to do ceramics, play cards and enjoyed her Bunco group. She loved shopping, always looking for the best bargains. Vickie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Colleen Dowling; husband, Donald E. Dowling; and her 4 brothers. Vickie is survived by her loving daughters, Daralee (Richard) Maxfield and Pam (Ron) Sprouse; grandchildren, Rick (Jenny) Maxfield, Tara Kuron, Bradley (Nicole) Sprouse and Diana (Dannie) Spradlin; and great-grandchildren, Connor, Stephen, Makenna, Kameron, Carson, Hannah, Braden, Audrey, Gracie and Alaina.
A Celebration of Life for Vickie will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4030 Douglas Rd., Toledo. The family will receive guests an hour prior. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
