Vicki Carone

Vicki Carone, age 72, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 7, 1938 to Nelles and Florence (Williams) Metz in Toledo. Vicki was a graduate of Maumee High School. She then attended Riverside Nursing School, graduating in 1960. Vicki was employed as a registered nurse at the Medical College of Ohio until retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Vicki is survived by her loving family, husband of 49 years, Carlo "Bill" Carone; daughters, Cathy (Kenneth) Stewart and Karen Rose; granddaughters, Madeline and Lydia Rose; brother, William Metz; son-in-law, Keith Rose; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Church, 1842 Airport Hwy., Toledo.

Those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Lung Association.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of Vicki's caregivers who have provided love and support throughout this difficult time.
